Wanting More Jeff Music

Wanting More Jeff Music

I know it's expensive to make and produce songs for radio play. But I also know that you have to kinda have that "in your face" mentality. We all love Jeff and follow him all over the country and are like little cheerleaders when we hear his music being played on the radio. What I don't understand is why the record label doesn't put out a new song of Jeff's every now and then. (Example: Taylor Swift,Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, etc. they have multiple songs out and when one slows they put out another, their labels do that "in your face" promoting) We love everything Jeff does but some other people may like his stuff but need a little more convincing and wait to see if he's consistantly good. Without new music to hear they lose interest. He has a lot of great songs but needs someone to put him out there "in the faces" of radio and naysayers in order to get him the respect and recognition he so deserves. I'M JUST SAYING!

We so totally agree,& even when his new songs did come out,& I have requested them,my station has said they have not received them from his distribution people. It took them forever to get Riverbank,& they played it,but they never got Dont Hate Me,or One Thing. They still do play LSK,& One Second Chance,No Shame, when requested,& all I can say is keep requesting him on radio,we his fans have to keep him out there & on the air too. When he was on RCA ,their distribution machine, lets face it,had to be much more powerful than the new label he is on now.But the more we demand him the better.I only listen to the djs who will play requests too.I can hear the same stuff 24/7 on every station, but if they dont play J.B. when I request something, then I wont listen to them & nicely let the ones that do, know why Im not listening to their rival. One of of our stations here has started asking for requests between 11 & 12 every wk day now.I heard Blake Shelton promoting his new cd yesterday,it only has 6 songs I think he said on it.They probably r making them smaller so they can sell them cheaper & faster, since the whole industry is down in sales. We all know he is at the top of the charts with the most powerfull, behind him,but it looks like things r starting to be done differently.Jeff said on his chat, that they r working on some new stuff so in the mean time us WOAMS,& all Jeffs many fans know what our job is ,keepin requestin him so when his new single comes out the djs will play it. ;) ;) ;) :) :) :)

I just E-mailed our local station KD Country 99.5 and thanked them for playing Jeff's older songs [they just played "I Wanna Make You Cry" last night (one of my favorites)] and asked why they aren't playing the new stuff. I even offered to loan them my CD. I'll be waiting to hear from them. If they start playing the new songs, I'll let you know.

This is what I got back from WKDP:
I love Jeff Bates as well. The problem we are currently having is his
latest releases. If we don't get them thur our music provider, we can not
play them. If we do get newer music of his, it will go into our new music
folder to play every 8 hours, if his song goes into the Billboard Country
Top 40 then that song will be played every few hours. Currently we don't
have anything new, but we will be happy to play anything else by Jeff Bates.
Thank You for listening

B-95 in Laurel , Miss. is burning up the air way with all of Jeff's songs and announcing every hour on the hour about him being at the Double D in Columbia , Miss. this Friday Night. They are even having listeners text JEFF BATES to them for a chance at VIP tickets. But I am Soooooooooooooo Glad I already have my VIP tickets....See all of you there Friday Night....... :D

Joyce, wonder who their music providers are?If we knew that maybe we could send requests to them to provide Jeffs latest songs to these radio stations.Thats whats bugging me,that the somebodys in the music food chain wont even give the stations a chance of playing some artists new stuff to even see if the listeners like it.All the stations should at least get the new stuff, than they should be allowed to have a Make it or Break it hour once or twice a week & let the listeners call in & vote on the ones they like or hate. These so called providers probably control what music goes to hundreds of stations round the country. :x :x :x

I asked who the providers are. I told her that I wanted to know who to complain to. She has not yet responded. I will pass the word along when she does.

Myself and others have talked about this same problem. I talked to the station manager at my fav. station 95.3 THE BEAR and he knows how much of a fan I am (the station is my friend on myspace). I request Jeff through the mail on there severail times a week. They play them but the other station, WTXT, is a strictly top 40 and its a no go.

Something else we have discused is him cutting another alblum using some of his older stuff from when he was with SOUTHERN STORM band. He has some really awesome songs from back then that we think can be rereleased with a fresh sound now and be remastered.

good thread and interesting reading as we have been dissapointed with our local stations for not playing his music - they used to, and once in a blue moon they will - but I have not had any luck this past year or so with requests and it get's old.
